The name "Utopia Of The Seas" was officially revealed on April 5, 2022, during the vessel's steel-cutting ceremony held at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipbuilding yard (in Saint-Nazaire, France). The ceremony also officially marked the start of Utopia's 30-month construction process. The special event was attended by Jason Liberty (RCG's new President and CEO) and Laurent Castaing (shipbuilder's General Manager). The shipbuilding order for a 6th Oasis-class unit (Utopia OTS, shipyard/hull number A35) was placed on February 18, 2019. However, the plans for commissioning in 2023-Q4 were postponed due to the COVID crisis.

The solarium will have its own pool and whirlpools, complete with a bar, daybeds, panoramic ocean views, and the Solarium Bistro. Utopia of the Seas, the cruise line’s newest Oasis-class cruise ship, has been designed entirely to offer guests 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday getaways. The ultimate 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday getaway will be the first in the revolutionary Oasis Class to offer short escapes when it debuts in July 2024. Every vacation will feature visits to Nassau, The Bahamas, and Perfect Day at CocoCay – Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private island – that will feature its first adults-only slice of paradise, Hideaway Beach, starting in January 2024. Known as the float out, the key moment in the construction of Utopia took 17 months to reach. The process itself took nearly 15 hours, beginning with filling the new ship’s dry dock with more than 46 million gallons of water overnight.

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

When arriving in the port, passengers can use their mobile phones to check-in and board the liner via just a security checkpoint between the ship and the curb. The new process leverages a combination of bar codes, beacons, and facial recognition, to make boarding fast. Follows the complete list of Utopia of the Seas restaurants and food bars. Utopia OTS' 3-tiered dining room, the Quantum is designed as three separate restaurants situated on different decks - American Icon Grill (Deck 3), The Grand (Deck 4) and The Chic (Deck 5). Unlike the other Oasis-Class ships, Utopia OTS has an additional (8th) neighborhood that houses Suites and Suite-only facilities. The "Suite Class Neighborhood" (located midship-aft on decks 17-18) is designed as an exclusive VIP accommodation complex with its own Restaurant, Bar Lounge, Sundeck.

Royal Caribbean Reveals Utopia of the Seas, Debuting in 2024

This includes the new Pesky Parrot bar, which will replace the Bionic Bar, and the Mason Jar, which will return on Utopia of the Seas after being hugely successful on Wonder of the Seas. With its many pools, immersive dining experiences, and thrills, Utopia of the Seas will be a distinct alternative in the cruise industry. According to the cruise line, the new Oasis Class ship will introduce unmatched energy and a variety of experiences that extend beyond the ship to Royal Caribbean’s private island in The Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Note that the Royal Loft Suite will be a bit different than on Wonder of the Seas. In terms of square footage, though, you can expect to still over 1,500 square feet of living space. One of the primary benefits is the additional living space, as these suites are 287 square feet with an additional 80 square feet of balcony.

Utopia of the Seas will provide a dizzying array of dining venues, drink options and activities for Royal Caribbean cruisers. From brand-new experiences to evolving fan favorites from previous vessels, the ship offers both seasoned cruisers and new-to-cruising travelers plenty of ways to fill a long "Ultimate Weekend." In total, there will be 20 new room types introduced onboard Utopia of the Seas, which also includes the new Royal Loft Suite. Here, up to six friends or family members can ‘find their me-time,’ in a vast room with a bathroom with spa tub, an expansive living area, a private balcony with a whirlpool, TV and sweeping ocean views, and more. Royal Caribbean will introduce two new Solarium Suites to the vessel, creating an adult-only area that guarantees guests some quiet time away.

Whether you’re into record-breaking waterslide thrills, shoreside chill in a private cabana or DJ-spun beats by the bustling swim-up bar — you’ll find it all here. And to level up your lounge game, upgrade your beach day at the exclusive Coco Beach Club®. "The culinary is going to be great. The crew interaction will be amazing, and just the overall architectural feel of the space guests are really going to feel like they've been they've stepped off of a ship and onto a train." As we first reported in April, the yet unnamed venue will feature a classic train motif that delivers a mixed reality experience.

weekend lineup

Utopia of the Seas will feature 2,830 cabins and suites, with more than 20 types of accommodations to suit every budget and group size. They include inside (windowless) cabins, ocean-view cabins and balcony cabins. Cruisers can choose from varied suite options, including the new posh Solarium Suites, exclusively on Utopia of the Seas. In a first for Royal Caribbean, Utopia will enter service offering just short cruises. Typically, new cruise ships start off with 7-night sailings, but Royal Caribbean wants to market Utopia to attract the new-to-cruise passenger.

These accommodations will include 80-inch LED TVs that provide live views from outside the ship. Ms. Chin-Sang described the experience "Deck 12, where you enter, will be the wine bar. You'll walk down the spiral staircase that goes around a huge olive tree into the deck 11 Italian kitchen." We're just about a year away from the launch of Royal Caribbean next, and perhaps final, Oasis Class cruise ship, Utopia of the Seas. With 10 complimentary dining options, it is possible to not spend a penny extra on dining outside of what is included in your base fare. Start your mornings at the Windjammer and grab a snack at the full-size food truck before indulging in a three-course meal at the Main Dining Room. The strategy is to attract people that have never taken a cruise before, and are tepid to try a week-long sailing.

Other Royal Caribbean cruise ships

Some fan-favorites are returning, like Playmakers, Boleros, and the Schooner Bar. Being that Utopia will be the first Oasis Class cruise ship to be powered by Liquified Natural Gas, or LNG, it makes sense that her homeport will be Port Canaveral, Florida. Cruise pricing is dynamic and varies for each specific sailing based on factors such as departure point, ports of call, and time of year. Typically newer ships cost more, so a cruise on Royal Caribbean Utopia of the Seas will likely cost more than other ships in the fleet.

Izumi will also have a new pickup window which allows quick grab and go offerings for guests. Compared to other Oasis Class ships, Utopia of the Seas will have a few changes to Central Park. One big change to the Royal Promenade is there will not be a Bionic Bar. Instead, a new tiki bar known as the Pesky Parrot, will take its place.

With so much to do on board, your biggest challenge might be hitting all the activities on your to-do list on a three- or four-night sailing. It will sail a series of three- to four-night cruises to the Bahamas from Florida's Port Canaveral (near Orlando). All of the Utopia of the Seas sailings will include a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas. Fares for a three-night sailing start from $469 per person (excluding taxes and fees).

Utopia of the Seas will top Wonder in size, but will have fewer staterooms than its sister ship. The ship will feature a total of five swimming pools and eight hot tubs for guests to enjoy. Alongside these, there will be three water slides, the Perfect Storm trio called Cyclone, Typhoon, and Supercell. While many cruise lines do offer shorter getaways, these are typically on older ships from smaller homeports, while Utopia of the Seas will exclusively sail to Perfect Day at CocoCay, creating a Royal Caribbean vacation experience from start to finish. Royal Caribbean reveals its sixth and final Oasis class cruise ship Utopia of the Seas, which will begin sailing in July 2024. The "train dining" experience (simulating a Dining Car on a train) is exclusive to Utopia OTS and starts on Deck 4, at a yet-to-be-named restaurant that occupies the area of Izumi (on all OASIS-class ships).

The inaugural voyage is slated for July 19, 2024 and will be a 3-night cruise to Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay. The second sailing will depart on July 22, 2024 and will be a 4-night cruise to The Bahamas. It has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by around 30%, sulfur emissions by nearly 100%, and nitrogen oxide emissions by around 85%. Moreover, she will have a capacity of 5,668 passengers at double occupancy split between 2,834 staterooms.
