The name "Utopia Of The Seas" was officially revealed on April 5, 2022, during the vessel's steel-cutting ceremony held at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipbuilding yard (in Saint-Nazaire, France). The ceremony also officially marked the start of Utopia's 30-month construction process. The special event was attended by Jason Liberty (RCG's new President and CEO) and Laurent Castaing (shipbuilder's General Manager). The shipbuilding order for a 6th Oasis-class unit (Utopia OTS, shipyard/hull number A35) was placed on February 18, 2019. However, the plans for commissioning in 2023-Q4 were postponed due to the COVID crisis.
